This diagram depicts the basic structure of the CHINA - EUROPE - USA CD-ROM. This electronic publication consists of four main types of documents:

Main Chapters. These texts (for each of the 10 major dimensions of our analysis) try to answer the question why a particular dimension is important for global dominance? For instance, here we explain why the development of "Science & Technology" is so important for a country or region to gain global dominance.

Sub-Chapters. For each of the main chapters, the CD-ROM includes two to five sub-chapters. Each sub-chapter is focused on one particular criterion for assessing the potential for global dominance. Altogether, we have selected 30 key criteria. For each criterion, we briefly compare the situation in China, Europe and the United States of America. For instance, we try to explain why a large number of "entrepreneurs" is so essential for a country or region to become a global (economic) player and then we assess which of the countries is leading in this regard.

In-depth Analyses. For each of the 30 sub-chapters describing the evaluation criteria, we have several in-depth analyses. These are the main parts of our study. Each in-depth analysis tries to explore one particular aspect that is relevant for global dominance. The in-depth analyses are linked to our data displays.

Data Displays. This type of document hold our empirical information, as well as data-oriented analyses and (simple) models. The data are provided in the form of tables, figures, diagrams, maps and (data-driven) animations.

Please note that the CD-ROM and Web Site are still under development!
